Year 12 student, Charlie Paige, is travelling to County Clare to compete in the 2018 Junior Tour of Ireland Cycle Race with the Green Jersey Race Team. This six-day international stage race for junior males aged between 16 – 18 years runs from 10th to 15th July and covers in excess of 520 kilometres over some of the most gruelling yet beautiful Irish countryside. Charlie and his team mates will be competing against teams travelling from the UK, USA, South Africa and the Netherlands as well as the Irish Junior teams.
Thanks to a supportive bursary from Dan’s Trust, Charlie has been able to buy a time trial wheel, which he will be using on stage one of the tour for the 6.2km time trial.
The event will be televised on Eurosport one week after the event for anyone wishing to tune in.
