Biology Olympiad

Enthusiastic Clitheroe Royal Grammar School Sixth Form students recently took part in the British Biology Olympiad. The demanding two-hour test aimed to stretch and challenge students’ knowledge and understanding of the science to their limits.

The multiple choice test was split into different sections covering an array of biological content, both within the A Level syllabus and beyond. Whilst it was very difficult, discovering solutions to complex biological problems was certainly an enjoyable experience.

Although this was our first entry into the competition, we had considerable success as many students achieved Bronze, Silver, and even Gold Awards. I am sure that future Sixth Form Biology students will enter the competition and we hope that they will repeat or even improve on our success.
