The Queen’s Scout Award

Julia Johnstone in Year 12 has achieved the Queen’s Scout Award, scouting’s highest award for young people.  She is 1 of only 3 people in this area to gain this award in the last 10 years (one of the others also being a Clitheroe Royal Grammar School student, her older brother, Michael).

In order to achieve this award Julia had to complete the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award and 6 additional projects, 2 of which each needed to be of more than 20 hours duration.  She also visited 4 countries as a Scout and has spent a total of 131 nights away from home.  All in all an outstanding achievement.  Congratulations Julia!
