Welcome

Thank you for visiting our website.

We are extremely proud of the Sixth Form at Clitheroe Royal Grammar School and the outstanding achievements of our students. We are committed to promoting academic excellence and providing a stimulating learning environment throughout the two years of Advanced Level study.

Joining the CRGS Sixth Form gives students the opportunity to develop themselves as successful independent learners within a supportive school environment, based on our Sixth Form site at York Street. We have 680 students in our Sixth Form from over 45 secondary schools. CRGS Sixth Form offers students a fresh start and the opportunity to excel within an aspirational and inspirational learning environment. Our Sixth Form has a friendly, welcoming and open atmosphere that visitors to our school will quickly notice.

Our expert, dedicated and committed teaching and pastoral staff work hard to ensure that students enjoy their time at CRGS and achieve the grades they need for the university course or job / apprenticeship that they wish to pursue after Sixth Form. The jump from GCSE to A Level study can be quite a challenge but at CRGS we support students all of the way. We foster a supportive and caring learning environment that inspires and challenges students to flourish.

Clitheroe Royal Grammar School provides the ideal climate for students to achieve their full potential. We provide a wide range of opportunities and enrichment activities to broaden our students’ experiences and understanding of the world. Students are treated and valued as individuals and are encouraged to thrive in their academic studies and wider enrichment activities.

In all previous Ofsted inspections the school has been rated as ‘outstanding’ and enjoys both a local and national reputation for excellence.

If you have any questions about applying to the Sixth Form, please call us on 01200 423118 or email sixthformadmissions@crgs.org.uk. We are always happy to arrange individual visits to the Sixth Form for students and their parents or carers.

"Students flourish from the high expectations set by leaders and teachers. They are highly motivated and immerse themselves fully in school life. Leaders are zealous in their efforts to develop students' wider development as well as their academic achievements. Students are prepared remarkably well for the next stage of their education, employment or training."
