Spring Concert

March 28 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

CRGS Spring Concert – Tuesday 28th March

The Spring Concert is being held on Tuesday 28th March in the Sports Hall, starting at 7.00pm. The concert features performances from the CRGS Choir, Orchestra, Swing Band, and Small Groups (including Flute Group, Brass Ensembles, Guitar Ensemble, String Group, and Wind Ensemble) as well as soloists, duets, and student bands. Tickets are now available from the Main School and Sixth Form Receptions and are priced at £5 for adults and £3 for concessions (over 65s and under 18s). Please book early to avoid disappointment. There will be prizes for the student in each year group who sells the most tickets!

Cake Sale for Operation Wallacea

As part of her fundraising efforts, Julia Johnstone (Year 13) will be selling cakes during the interval. Operation Wallacea is a conservation project running in many different countries, and every two years CRGS gives a group of about 40 students (Years 12 and 13) the opportunity to go on a two-week long trip to help with this project. This Summer Julia is fortunate enough to be going with school to Dominica to help with Operation Wallacea’s excellent cause, and she will also get some hands-on experience with wildlife and talk to the scientists doing the research and conservation on the island.

Music Book Sale

Over the last 6 months Dr Allcock and a number of GCSE students have been tidying the Music Department in order to make space for new equipment and resources. There are a number of music books and copies of sheet music which are no longer useful for classroom learning or extra-curricular music activities but which may prove interesting to those pursuing music as a hobby or for wider reading. All books are priced very reasonably and multi-buy discounts are available. Please give some of the books a new home!

CRGS Music Supporter Badges

As you may already have seen, many students are wearing music badges which recognise their commitment to Music at CRGS. Students are awarded their music badges once they have taken part in three music performances. As part of our drive to provide students with the best possible resources, equipment, and experiences, we are pleased to offer bronze supporter badges to all friends and relatives. These badges are priced at £4 each and every penny goes towards supporting students to learn and make music. The supporter badges will be available to buy during the interval and immediately after the concert.
