The Clitheronians

The Clitheronians is the school’s Alumni Association created out of the original Old Boys’ and Old Girls’ Associations which were active when Clitheroe Royal Grammar School was two separate institutions. The Committee is currently chaired by Barrie Lancaster. The President of the Association is Michael Blacklidge.

The Committee meets up 4 – 6 times a year to plan various activities including a Summer Lunch and a Quiz Night.

The Clitheronians have their own social networking site which all ex-students are invited to join. This provides a forum where events and activities can be advertised and it also provides easy communication between the various school leaving year bands.

The Clitheronians have been very generous to their former school and have made donations towards the building of the 3G all-weather pitch and sports hall.

Many former students return to support the school at our various events, including our Management Conference, Oxbridge Conference, MedSoc, Psychology Club, Enterprise Days, Careers Morning, Apprenticeship Talks and our Higher Education Days. A number of former students have also spoken at our Annual Awards Evening. It is always inspirational for existing students to hear from former CRGS students and to gain invaluable advice to support them in their decision-making.

Any former student of the school wishing to get involved with The Clitheronians, or have their name added to our current mailing list, should write to:
