Talented CRGS Linguists visit Lancaster UniversityOn Wednesday 28th January 2009 and coinciding with celebrations in school of the Chinese New Year, ten talented linguists from Years 7 – 9 spent the day at Lancaster University. The ten, who learn Mandarin Chinese as an extra-curricular option in school, worked with pupils from other local schools and enjoyed the experience enormously. They were provided with language tuition by a Mandarin specialist from Lancaster University and gained a further insight into Chinese culture and life. They were accompanied on the trip by their Chinese teacher Mrs Cecilia Tsang. CRGS hopes to cement further links with Lancaster University in the near future, enabling more of our pupils to benefit from such events, thus enhancing the language skills gained in school. |
