Scuba Dive Training30 students from Years 11, 12 and 13 are participating in the Clitheroe Royal Grammar School Operation Wallacea expedition to South Africa and Mozambique this summer. Students will help scientists to survey the movement of animals through the Kruger and Limpopo National Parks and will learn about the reef ecology of the Indian Ocean whilst scuba diving on the Mozambique coast. Last term local scuba dive company, Reefers and Wreckers of Barrow, gave students dive theory lessons in school and 12 students successfully completed their theory examination and pool dives. 11 more students are currently participating in this dive training. The training will give students valuable experience which will increase their access to, and understanding of, the reef. Well done to the students and thank you to Reefers and Wreckers. |
