Poetry by Heart has been facilitated by Mrs Salt throughout the year. Rhian (pictured) wrote her own poem and was awarded a Golden ticket to attend the winner’s event at The Globe.
The school winners are Heather Taylor-Harding and Sophie Bassano. Sophie has now gone on to win the regional competition and will now compete at the national competition at The Globe Theatre in London in June. It is a very prestigious event and had hundreds of entries from across the country, so they have done really well.
Poet laureate Simon Armitage is one of the distinguished judges.
